Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

It's soooo cold here today... I am freezing! I;m so tired today not feeling well! I HAVE to get into the sewing room tonight to work on Billie Jean's semi-formal dress I'm making for her to wear to her Winter Dance! I haven't been down there since the weekend. I'm getting SOOOOOOOOOO frustrated with this dress! UGH! LOL! I just want it done! Then I can work on a new dress out of some cutesy rainbow flannel fabric I got to make Renee a dress!

I made stuff again! LOL!

I've been trying so hard to get back into my sewing room to get some things done recently!!
Finally here are the pictures of items in the previous post!

The first skirt in red is Renee's skirt! This is one solid piece of material that I added a waist band and hemmed the bottom! :-)

The blue skirt is made exactly the same only this one is for Callie! Miss Renee's best friend!

Next we have a lunch bag that I made from this tutorial/pattern! I really love All People Quilt!

WOW! What a busy week! I haven't had time to do anything! LOL! I worked 12 hour days on Wednesday and Friday of last week! Right around Thanksgiving!! Thank You! LOL! UGH! We moved our corporate offices to a new building! Being the IT department we had to be sure that all computers were up and running and the servers working fine before we left for the day!
What really bites is even though I asked and was tole these extra 8 hours I worked would be paid as overtime they weren't! Because of the holiday that week! ARGH! You would need to "work" 40 hours without the holiday in there inorder for anymore hours to be considered OT! So why didn't they say this before I agreed to all these dang hours!!! Really peeves me!

Oh well! life goes on I suppose!

I should be thankful I have a good job in IT and not be too worried in these economic times! :-)

I did some sewing over the weekend! Made three circle skirts out of some Christmas fabric. I made one for my daughter Renee 7 and one for her friend Callie also 7 and one for Callie's little sister Maddie! 18 months! :-) I have pictures at home on the camera still!
I will get them posted soon! Hopefully tonight after I take the girls bowling! Our local bowling alley does 99 cent bowling on Tuesday nights... Including shoe rental for 99 cent too!

I'm going to try to get back in here in post at least daily!

Elfing Around!

I am always looking for really cool and fun traditions to start with my children. I have found the most awesome tradition that you can do with your children for Christmas - Elfing Around

It all takes place during the 12 days before Christmas. Your child's Elfing experience begins with a letter from your child's elf announcing their arrival. This helps to build the anticipation for that first day. When the Elf arrives that is when the FUN begins. The Elf arrives with a letter explaining that they must stay still during the day so no one sees their magic. At night is when the MAGIC begins. There is a parent's guide to help help the stage for each little 5-15 minute scene. The next day the child must find their elf. The elf leaves clues to find them. One day there is even a hunt. So much fun! On December 24th is when the elf goes back to the North Pole until next year. Elf dolls enhance Christmas!
No worries about repeating the same days for the next year because Elfing Around offers a parent guide for the next year. You can even get fun boxes to add a little extra fun to each day.

Each Elfing Around kit includes:
Boy/Girl Elf (12 inches tall)
Parent Adventure Guide Book
Letter from Elf
2 Elf Tattoos
Birthday Card from your child's Elf on their Birthday

Easy way to redo an electrical plug...

We picked up two old neat looking lamps at Goodwill this weekend...

John was a bit afraid of the older plug-ins so we made a quick stop at Rural King.
After speaking to an associate there we purchased these...

Handy dandy little plug replacements that are extremely easy to use!

You simply cut the old plug off....
Slide the new plug apart.
Pull your wire through the new plug and slide it into the hole on the middle part.
Squeeze it together and slide into the outer part.
Until it clicks in place and you have a new plug on your device!

A wonderful treat....

This is one of my favorite Christmas Season Treats.....
I long for Girl Scout Thin Mints year round
and now I found a way to have them!!!

CoffeeMate Peppermint Mocha Creamer!
I make a pot of Velvet Chocolate Coffee and then make a cup and add around
3 to 4 Tablespoons of Sugar
And enough of this coffee creamer to make the coffee nice and light!

Stir it up and it's like drinking Liquid Thin Mints.
I have found this is powder form and liquid form!

I have BOTH!!! Powder form will save for a while!

Enjoy!

Election Day....

Are you voting? Just be sure to vote your heart. I won't say who I'm voting for though.

Post Signature....

I had been wondering where to put one so that it automatically added to my posts and I found it!
Tonight I have bowling league. Wow I didn't remember it being this tough! LOL! It had been 10 years since I bowled on a league and 5 years since I bowled but I jumped at the opportunity when my dad called! LOL! My average started at a whopping 126 and is now up to 130 as of last week! We shall see tonight where it is and I think I'll start posting my games each week! Maybe it will give me some motivation about doing better and focusing when bowling!

Ahhhhhhhhh The Time Change....

I love the fall time change! Extra hour to get stuff done! Though I didn't sleep worth a darn last night! UGH! LOL! I was awake every hour or so!

I don't think it had anything to do with the time change but more to the coffee I drank 2 hours before bed!

I went grocery shopping yesterday and found PepperMint Mocha Coffee Creamer! LOL! I love this stuff! If you make Chocolate Velvet Coffee then add some sugar and this creamer you will have a very close version of Liquid Girl Scout Thin Mint Cookies! LOL!

YUMMY!!!!

Well since I didn't sleep well last night on my way to work this morning I stopped and bought myself a Java Monster. Loca Mocha Flavor and drank that. WOWOWOWOW! Can you you say ENERGY!! LOL! I'm bouncing off the walls! LOL!

Oh well! I love the taste of those and much cheaper than hitting Starbucks!

Trick or Treat Night!!!

We are taking Billie Jean and Renee to some Trunk & Treats where we used to live!
It will be fun! Renee is so excited being the Corpse bride! LOL!

I will post photos later this evening of how they both look!!
Though my older daughter (15) is just wearing a t-shirt I embroidered that says

"This is my costume!
Got a problem with that?"

LOL!

They will both be able to see old friends that they haven't seen much of since we moved.
So it should be a good time for all!

This was taken on Sunday when our neighborhood for
some strange reason decided to have trick or treating!

We have Trick or Treating in our neighborhood tonight! and it's about 40 degrees out here after dark so I wanted a quilt so that John and I could be comfy and warm on the porch handing out treats!

And I made my binding from extra matching fabric!
It's so warm and comfy!
Happy Halloween to all!

Making Clothes for my girls...

I love making outfits for my girls and it gives me a wonderful feeling when they come home from school excitedly telling me that all their friends were asking where they got the neat clothes!
The girls feel special and I'm happy when that happens!
Here's a top I made for my daughter Billie.

And another outfit I made for my daughter Renee who is 7 :-) She could be a little model! She lovese posing! I will be adding more photos of here in other items I've made for her! :-)
